The Rise of TikTok SEO: How to Get Found in Search
Published on November 8, 2025
More and more users are using TikTok's search bar to find information and tutorials. Optimizing your content for search, or 'TikTok SEO', is the next frontier for growth.
1. Use Keywords in Your On-Screen Text
The text you add within the TikTok editor is highly searchable. If your video is about 'how to make a paper airplane', make sure that exact phrase appears as text on screen at the beginning of your video.
2. Speak Your Keywords
TikTok automatically transcribes your videos. When you speak your main keywords clearly in your voiceover (e.g., 'Today, I'm going to show you my favorite vegan pasta recipe...'), the algorithm uses those transcribed words to understand and rank your content in search.
3. Optimize Your Caption and Hashtags
Your caption is another important place for keywords. Instead of a generic caption, be descriptive. Use your niche hashtags (like #veganrecipes) as we've discussed in other guides. This combination of on-screen text, spoken words, and caption optimization will give you the best chance of ranking in TikTok search.
